How to add an Event to Native Calendar

I have successfully added event to Native calendar, Android API Level 14 or higher, using below code:

             Intent calIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_INSERT);
             calIntent.setData(Events.CONTENT_URI);
             calIntent.putExtra(Events.TITLE, "Event Title");
             calIntent.putExtra(Events.EVENT_LOCATION, "Event Location");
             calIntent.putExtra(Events.DESCRIPTION, "Event Description");
             Calendar startTime = Calendar.getInstance();
             startTime.set(2013, 3, 16, 16, 0); // 16:00
             Calendar endTime = Calendar.getInstance();
             endTime.set(2013, 3, 16, 22, 30); // 22:30
             calIntent.putExtra(CalendarContract.EXTRA_EVENT_BEGIN_TIME,
             startTime.getTimeInMillis());
             calIntent.putExtra(CalendarContract.EXTRA_EVENT_END_TIME,
             endTime.getTimeInMillis());
             startActivity(calIntent);

but now i want to know how to add events on Android devices those are using API Level 8 or higher but less than (<) 14.
