My Sister’s Keeper

There’s no word in English Literature to describe the parents who lose their child.

Maybe grief is a close one.

“There should be a statute of limitation on grief.” I don’t think I could agree upon any other emotional statement more than this. I know the grief of a lost sibling. I know exactly how Kate Fitzgerald felt. Even 22 years cannot subside your grief. A slight mention of the name, and there is a tight knot of tears in your chest; grief in your heart – like it happened yesterday.

Some might see reading a book as “just reading a book”. I get too attached. I got too attached to Anna Fitzgerald.

I fell in love with this book so much, I couldn’t wait for it finish so I could watch the movie and fall in love again. But when, just before a few chapters were left for it to end, I read the movie’s review and instantly decided not to watch it because of the changed ending. Now I want to, desperately. I want Anna to be alive.

It’s funny how thing turn out to be. God sure shows how helpless we are. The fear of uncertainty makes us do everything in our power to make things certain. Yet we fail. This is what “My Sister’s Keeper” by Jodi Piccoult made me re-learn. Yes I keep forgetting this.

If you are an avid reader, you NEED to read this piece of tragic beauty. A story line that will keep you interested til the very last word. Her style of writing this book is beautiful and captivating.

Tragedy is nonetheless beautiful. It’s what polishes you. It reminds you of being human. Just…

Have a beautiful day

xoxo
